He inquires if the book arrived safely and hopes that he will be able to come get it. He says that he is far away from gotham for the season. He is sorry for not having Mr. And Mrs. Markham over for tea. On his return, he hopes that they will be able to visit him. He thanks Mr. Markham for the book, which gave him a chance to criticize him.
